Low impact life on board is an expression from UK waterways boaters who care about the environment. It’s not an association nor an institution, it’s just a banner behind which different local boaters communities can identify themselves and make their voices heard (just like ALF, or Earth First…).
In their webpage, there is an interesting section called LILO Handbook, a collectively redacted compendium of useful tips to make life on board more echo-friendly and sustainable. Despite some articles are very specific for river/channels boating, many topics are valid for all kind of nomadic life-stiles, and most of them can be applied on a medium size sailing boat.
In 2012 the webpage has been offline for more than 6 months, but now all the contents are available again… So let’s have a look at it!
